The Belmont women’s basketball team found out Monday that their season isn’t over quite yet.
After an 18-13 season, the Bruins were invited to the 2013 Women’s Basketball Invitational and will travel to play the University of Detroit Titans Thursday at 6 p.m.
The team is one of two No. 8 seeds in the 16-team, single-elimination tournament that includes teams such as Mercer, Pennsylvania such Elon. The tournament bid is the team’s first since 2007.
“We are grateful to the WBI for this opportunity. We are thrilled to continue playing this season and count ourselves as fortunate to have the opportunity,” said coach Brittney Ezell in a news release.
