After an extensive social media campaign, Gavin Mummert and Mohansingh Udhwani Jr. have won the 2018 SGA presidential election.
In an Instagram Live video after voting closed Friday afternoon, Mummert — current president of Young Americans For Liberty and SGA Finance Committee chair — said he’s excited to start taking action.
“We want to start building those connections we’ve been talking about, we want to put everything into action,” Mummert said. “It doesn’t end here, it starts here.”
Mummert and Udhwani received several endorsements from student leaders during their energized social media campaign — including former SGA Vice President Macy Thompson, former Outreach and Events committee Chair Devyn Duerig, Bridge Builders Secretary Mikayla Elias and several members of Greek life.
The pair will take office for the 2018-19 academic year.
