Freshman Connor Etheridge from Springfield, Ill. has been playing baseball since he was 6 years old.
His interest in the game was first piqued while playing catch with his dad and attending his older brother’s baseball games.
“I was always kind of around it,” said Etheridge.
He can now be seen on the mound for the Belmont baseball team wearing number 17.
As an exercise science major with an emphasis in physical therapy, Etheridge didn’t come to Nashville seeking Belmont.
“Originally, I came down to shadow my aunt, who is a physical therapist here in one of the hospitals,” said Etheridge.
His aunt is the one who told him about Belmont, and how it is a Division I school with a good physical therapy program.
Etheridge likes to relax when not playing baseball or studying. He spends his free time watching Netflix or hanging out with his teammates.
