Meet the new Bruin: Lily Herman

Lily Herman, who wears No. 1 on the field for the Belmont women’s soccer team, has been playing soccer for as long as she can remember.

However, she loves to stay active outdoors in many ways other than just soccer.

“I like to do other activities outside, other than soccer. Back home we always biked, I like to ski and wakeboard and other things like that,” she said.

At Belmont, she and her friends have fun exploring all the restaurants Nashville has to offer.

“We really like to go eat at different restaurants,” said Herman. “We really like Biscuit Love – that’s a really good one in downtown Nashville – and Edley’s.”

When it comes to soccer, Herman has loved her sport since she was 4 years old and playing for Candy League.

“I think that it was always in the back of my mind that I wanted to play in college,” said Herman.

She committed to Belmont over Halloween weekend of her junior year in high school.

Herman is recently changed her major to political science and is excited to learn and take classes in that area. She was persuaded to declare her major after taking a political science class with Dr. Vaughn May at Belmont.

“It’s kind of geeky, but I always really liked history in high school,” she said.
