Student robbed in the JAAC

A student reported to Campus Security that she was robbed in the Janet Ayers Academic Center Sunday.

The female student reported a woman asked her for money at 4 p.m., and after giving some over, the suspect aggressively asked for more, according to an email from Campus Security.

After the student refused, the suspect grabbed more money from her and ran out of the building.

Metro Police have been notified about the incident and are currently investigating. The suspect was described as “a black female in her early to mid-30s, approximately 5’8 in height, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and dark pants,” according to the email.

Campus Security reminded students to travel in groups, stay alert and utilize the campus escort service.
