Bongo Java recently celebrated its 16th birthday on Saturday, March 28, 2009. The milestone was commemorated with a party that very well suited the casual vibe of the cool coffee house. The birthday bash happened to fall on the same night as Earth Hour and the movie, "Sixteen Candles" was the perfect movie to honor both occasions.

With broad shoulders, a strong arm and a confident attitude Belmont senior Jimmy Stanley looks like a pitcher. When he takes to the mound late in games--the team usually rests at ease. Stanley gets the job done.

Robert Knight has photographed rock bands for forty years and got his big break shooting one of Led Zeppelin's first shows for Rolling Stone. Since then, he's photographed artists as diverse as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bootsy Collins and Panic at the Disco. Knight is the subject of Rock Prophecies, a documentary about his life as a rock photographer, as well as a mentor to young artists. Before the Nashville premiere of the film, Knight sat down to talk with the Vision about photography and music in the digital age.

Dirty Eye Booking is a burgeoning business that is quickly revolutionizing the definition of the term "booking" in the music industry, and the most impressive part is that the brains and bones of the organization recently graduated or are still here at Belmont.

Imagine that you're walking along one day, minding your own business and eating a banana. Suddenly, the banana slips out of your hands, and you proceed to trip and fall on your own banana peel, just like some sort of sad cartoon character. You stretch out your hand in an attempt to break your fall, but all you get is a dislocated finger for your efforts. Your favorite shirt also gets ripped beyond repair in the process.

It's a cool, spring night in Nashville. The trees around Belmont sway lazily with the breeze. On the side of the Beaman, a group of students congregate. They stand cigarettes in hand. Some of their cigarettes are half finished; others have just started. Laughter and conversation is exchanged between the students. Passersby can't help but inhale the tobacco smell as they make their way to the caf.

Subway has been trying to get Bruin Bucks accepted, but there's still no answer from Belmont. University administrators say that they're still considering a Bruin Bucks agreement with the Subway just across the street, but Subway management says politics may be be overriding the interest of the students.
